^J^ - I think the gist of the text relates to simulator training using a sim-linked camera "flying" on a gantry above a model-board.
"They "take-off" and "land" in million-dollar flight simulators at ??? Kansas City training ????? There's also something about a "TV camera that ??? ??? above a miniture airport with a 40 ft runway".
The (very) old F4 Phantom sim at my first operational secret RAF Lincolnshire airbase had just such a "model board" with the airfield, taxyways, significant buildings and other local area landmarks - Tattershall Castle - derived in some detail, though it was mounted vertically to save space. The two crew cockpit - fixed base - had solid canopies, though the front screen was as on the real aircraft. I flew it once... crashed!!

Hey Foggy....Thanks so much for your help....!!!
It does make sense....looks like the add...may be from the 60's....and flight simulation..with all the new style jets..I don't know if they even had simulators enclosed at that time...like have now......
Land on the 40 foot....then you can land on the 9000 foot....
if built to scale....guess???
your F-4 Phantom...you crashed and burned....:))))))but lived to tell.....
I appreciate your help more than you know....
this may seem trivial...with this Ad...maybe the world should go back to the basics....Mmmmm
Take care Foggy
