The incredible video shows how a casual weekend drive could have resulted in catastrophic consequences when a  passenger airliner careered off the runway at Russia's third-busiest airport while landing, broke into pieces and caught fire, killing at least four people.

The Guests

The guests arrived one Christmas Eve.

We watched them drifting through the trees

and floating softly past the limbs

to rest upon the fallen leaves.

         

We went to greet them, she and I,

we stood beneath the Winter sky

and saw them swirl about the gate

then brightly past the lamplight fly,

to stand before us, one inch high.

Now inside, we watch them still

settling on the window sill

and capping fence posts down the road,

they sugar coat the distant hill.

The scents of Christmas make us grin.

Hot chocolate, spruce and cinnamon

mingles with the candle light

and sweetly scented paraffin.

Outside, hedges turn to lace.

The wind has found some guests to chase.

As fir trees sink beneath the drifts,

the birches change from commonplace

into a maze of glistening gifts.

Our guests stand now a foot or more.

They congregate outside our door

and hiss against the window pane

then decorate the sycamore.

The Christmas dawn is icy clear.

Our guests have left their magic here

and made our Yule time wish come true.

Good health, good luck, good will, good cheer!

A Dear Friend of mine,...shared with  me this "Santa"  print......titled.... 
"Santa In A Balloon"....he says there was a shop  Back in the 70s, in, Chads Ford Pennsylvania that was always loaded with Christmas things.  The painting (above) hung in that  shop for years.  It was done in 1928 by a very well known painter of the early 20th Century named Frank Schoonover. 
 As a young man, he studied art with another well known painter named N.C. Wyeth – Andrew Wyeth’s father....!!!
Thank you "Friend" for sharing........even back in 1928.......Santa was the original
 "Aviation Geek".....he had it going on....and  delivered his prezzie's....to all the kids......!!!
