OUR HEARTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH THOSE AND THEIR FAMILIES.....GOD BLESS!!!!!!...I've included a couple of web links for further informaion..........a SAD Day in AVATION!!!!
Terrible news, and my heart goes out to the families of all concerned.
I have flown on First Air a few times. They do a great job flying into some very challenging airports. Getjets - you may note the ski-like apparatus on the front landing gear in the picture you posted. It's a gravel guard, designed to protect the fuselage when operating on short, gravel runways like at Resolute.
As an FYI, this particular aircraft is ex-Air Canada regional. See http://www.airliners.net/photo/NWT-Air/Boeing-737-210C-Adv/0013825/&sid=58a61645fa55fc322c77169b5ceadef8
Not many words to sum up such tragady!!!!!! Craig R....I did not know about the apparatus in frot of the 737-200 front landing gear....Thanks, love learning new things.!!!
One of Carlton's(Captain D's) commenter...they lost one of their "Red Winger" pilots this past weekend.....SAD Indeed!!!
It was indeed an awful weekend for aviation, and now just yesterday a plane crashed during the Kansas City air show killing a pilot who flies Delta Air Lines 747 for a living...
