BECAUSE I REALLY MISS TWA AIRLINES!!!

Friday, September 30, 2011

IT'S FRIDAY........ AND I HAVE A BONE TO PICK.......AND SOME NOT SO VAGUE POINTS TO MAKE.......^j^

Look what found me on the internet........from  an Airline Design web site......
An A-380 decked out with the old TWA Airlines Livery....
She would cut one helluva path accross the sky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If only it could be.......What a Beauty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know, I totally understand people not getting why so many of us are so upset over the whole TWA/AA merger, and why we can't get over it... People don't understand what its like until it hits home.. TWA was 76 years of aviation pioneering. So many thousands of people dedicated much of their lives to transporting many thousands of people all over the world every single day, 365 days a year, for 76 years. Then to have it all just disappear, it's heartbreaking.

To have AA doing its damnedest to wipe every recollection of what once was TWA off the face of the earth after all of it, just hurts.  But not anymore.....!!!!!!

I miss seeing the night skies above STL two rows five deep with TWA planes. They would look like the stars just hovering...waiting their turn to land..... I miss the roar of the L1011/747's or widebodies at STL in general, and I miss feeling at home with friends and family on my flights.

Whaow, wonderfully said Julie! I think that's really what a lot of people feel about TWA explained in words!

Not sure if you've already read this but here's a link from Airliners.net

http://www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/general_aviation/read.main/5267819/

It's about TWA ordering 777/A330's. They ordered like 20 of them, and an option for another 20! Wow! Can you imagine a TWA Liveried A330!?

Take care!

...or a B777? Especially in what I think was their final paint scheme with the "Twin Globes" on the forward fuselage... or am I thinking of something completely different?

PS: Well said J

Thank you Bas..and yes I've read those words on any and every TWA site I run accross..and there are thousands of them.....

It's so lovely to know how much beloved TWA was and IS to this day...and yet....such an emptiness, left....
I wonder....would we realize all this if TWA were still with us...I believe the answer to be HELL YEA!!!!!!!!!

A saying of sorts I have heard several times....................

"FUNNY WHEN YOUR DEAD......HOW PEOPLE START LISTENING"

Hey Mr. Foggy, and Thank you for the kind words on my post!!!!!!

I was rereading from my last post or two, about how Dave W....commented that ya'll's meeting together was so much better than he expected....I love that.....!!!that it went so well!!!!

I think that sort of thing can be tricky....and probably the end result can be better or worst than expected....I am guessing....I hope to find out next January..
and that it will be as good to kick of the North American Squadron branch of the CDAS.....

Thank you for stopping by and visiting, as time is always precious.....and I am still looking forward to that beautiful "Red Sky at Night"....
of the 4 seasons......I believe the Fall, would produce such a
lovely backdrop, so to speak.....

Didn't think it looked that good on a big and modern jet like that Julie! Some airline should pay a tribute to TWA and paint it like this..lol!

getjets said...

Bas, that would be so awesome !!!!!

As a TRIBUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what an awesome idea that is!!!!!!!!!!!

AC has an A319 painted in its old Trans-Canada Airlines colour scheme.

Fin 264

AA should do the same and paint one or two of its planes in TWA livery.

That's a great idea, Craig.

Hey there Craig R.......So good to hear from you.....did ya get sick of French fries...lol kidding...

no really glad your back.....!!!!!!!

but I'll bet it's a little rough getting back in the swing of things.....

Thanks so much for the link......I don't think we'll ever see A A doing anything remotely close.....But what a gift of Good Will that would be...I believe.......

Are there even patents or copy rights on Airline livery?????????
I always have preferred the trademark (OLD) RED and WHITE TWA livery.....not so much the newer with blue....but I'm Old....ha ha..

But that would be an Awesome sight...to see that Big TWA Livery cutting through the sky again.....

again Good to read ya...see ya, I mean....ha ha
