Vintage Military....slide show........Giving my "Thanks" on Memorial Day.................!!! Cactus Flight 1549....We're "Unable"....!!!!

Everyday should be "Memorial Day".........!!!
a short 'Slide Show'..........
of "Military Vintage......and "Words"......and  "Meanings"........that go along with those "Words".......

Ya Know...........

"Thank You's".....
don't need 'Holidays'..........to count!!!

Soldier feeding an orphaned kitty he rescued in Korea in 1953, the kitten’s name was Miss Hap,....

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,

A resting place along the road,
To sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way.

We are all meant to learn some things,
But never meant to stay.

Our" HOPE"  for the future.............
in her eyes..........

Maintenance on the A-10 'Warthog'............

Time to kick some ASS!!!!!!

"Patriot"........."Hero"............

A Million "Thank You's"....
will never be enough..........!!!!!

This video has been out on Youtube.......
for couple of years, I believe.........and since this Monday is "Memorial Day".......where we honor all those who served their Country.......
those who have fallen and those still with us..............
Another Hero............A "Revisit" of sorts..............to Jan. 15, 2009 and "Cactus 1549"
and the Unbelievable story......of a flight crew.........working as '1 unit'.......... helped to save all the those on board .... that flight!!!!!!!

Thank You.........Captain Chesely "Sully" Sullenberger........!!!

You may neeed to click on the web-link below video.......
to watch 'full screen'........also....the audio..doesn't start till a bit........ into video...
You know that 'saying'...that there are only
2 'certainties'.........in life..........."Death" and "Taxes"..........Well there was another "certainty" on Jan 15,2009.....
that Cactus flt. 1549 was going to "Crash"............and that it did.......and all souls on board lived to tell...........!!!!

This animation is based on all currently available data concerning the US Airways Flight 1549 crash landing on the Hudson River (Cactus 1549). Satellite imagery, elevation models and robust GIS mapping methods are utilized to create a vegetation model, terrain model and ground clutter (3D buildings). Of all available audio tracks, only two are used, La Guardia Tower and New York TRACON Departure controller position. Radar data as well as the onboard Flight Data Recorder are utilized in constructing the flightpath of the aircraft.

^J^ ...and from me: have a great weekend; don't let the girls run you too ragged. Got to show 'em who's boss... allegedly!! LOL

I still think 'Sully' and his superb crew had some help that day and I still find it hard to believe that everyone got out without serious injury... even those who clearly didn't have a clue as to how to put on a life-vest... next time ladies and gents... take note of the safety briefing...!

And as for those 'Hogs'... used to watch them on a Friday morning at Tain, Wainfleet and Donna Nook - North Sea Coast Air Weapons Ranges - letting go with their 30MM GAU-8's... knocks spots off Arnie's 'UZI 9 Millymeeter!' Loudest, most dangerous 'PHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRT!' you ever would wish not to hear... especially if the fekka was pointed right at you!!! LOL OL

Catch you later...

'robot' words: 'goioney Lieutenant'!

Oh, wow, Miss T, I'm speechless. While I was off selfishly drinking beers on the beach in Mexico, you were busy posting an honor to our fallen heroes!

Excellent, excellent post! And of course the whole 1549 video animation is always an incredible thing to witness.

Thanks for the super stuff!

(and Yes Foggy, I've heard that "faaarrrtt" noise from a safe distance...verrrry unnerving, lol!)
