Great pics! Gosh, could you imagine Cappy in that dirty cockpit with his paintbrush - he'd be like the cleaning bot from WALL-E! LOL!

Hey folks!

Still looking at those pictures every day, loved every second of flying on that magic machine (Hence, I didn't sleep).

Chatted a lot with the FA's, who didn't want to see the MD-11 go either... To get to sit in that chair and hold the control column was just amazing.

Hahahahaha, she's old, but she'll hold. They're worn, but taken very good care of.

Thanks for sharing Julie, I love it here in Ottawa... and with Giulia and family! They're the best... Canada is great =) Julie we've probably never been this close to each other haha!

Take care,

Bas

Bas:)

Any little details about life in Ottawa,
that are different from home?

Hello, Julie!

Hey Daniel! Good to hear from you!

Well, everything!? Hahahaha. It's lovely here... First, the squirrels. I saw a squirrel in real life for the first time...one-and-a-half week later, they're normal. Saw a groundhog now, and racoons. That was a first.

Canadians are gentle and kind! That's lovely, some of us could learn a little from that. Had a great chat with a police officer yesterday and that was fun.

The city, amazing :O Seen a lot of places in Holland but Ottawa...whoaaa...just got back from a trip down town, all the way down the rideau canal and it's nothing like at home. Food is good, supermarkets are...HUGE...

and then the cars...

I can see why we have a global warming problem. Many people driving pick-up trucks with 4.0L V8 engines...I guess they need them in the winter.

Cultural heritage, the entire culture, Giulia and family...it's EPIC as I would say =D.

Oh, and the big people on the bus...the ones taking up three seats...yeah that's a little different. Ha ha ha.

Take care, over there!

Thank you for that great reply!

A squirrel? I'll bet that he [or she] had
never seen a BAS before!!!

Canadian hospitality? I read about an
18th century visitor to Canada who
remarked about the same thing. He
suspected that the wide open spaces &
plentiful resources had something to
do with it.

Canadians are not better than others,
but we have been luckier!

P.S.

You've chatted with police?
[ So have I. :) ]

Hi everyone,

Sorry that I haven't written in a while.

I just wanted to say that it is great having Bassie here with us in Ottawa. He's officially part of the family and too bad for him. My big Italian family scooped him up and now he's stuck with us!

We try to keep busy visiting tourist places around Ottawa, but also doing regular things too.

He's becoming quite the Canadian. :)

And yes, yes...we visited the "fence." (like, duh!)

Maybe Julie will post some of the pics we have so far.

Soon, Bas will be helping me out in my classroom, poor guy. And my sister will show him around her Chemistry lab at the university. He should be busy...but he is slacking on his homework! Get to it, Bas!

Jules, we need you. You're missing...
Hurry up!

And if Ritchie is lurking...we'd love to see you too. So if you are working up here... :)

All the best and love to all.

Re: Dan----->one day, sir, one day! We are waiting for you too! :) <3

Hahahaha... and somehow every time they look at me they look like they're in awe.... Mouth right open with a nut between the paws staring at me like I'm an alien ;P

I guess that rings truth, but everyone is so nice and the hospitality is great... People walk up to me and I walk up to people. Just lovely.

Whahahaha.... do we want to know? XD It was alll good xD

Not anymore! Worked REALLY hard on that, phah! :P I'm in Ottawa right now, the weather is good...I shouldn't be doing homework riiight!?

=)
